Jordan

Ever since the Kvinna till Kvinna Foundation began working in the Middle East; our ambition has been to support broad-based regional peace initiatives. With the starting point at the Israeli/Palestinian conflict, a regional perspective is a prerequisite for sustainable peace. We opened our Jerusalem office in 2001 and our partners today include fifty or so Palestinian and Israeli women's organisations.

Our cooperation with Palestinian women's organisations on the West Bank and Gaza paved the way for contact with women's organisations in neighbouring countries, making our regional enlargement to Jordan and Lebanon a natural progression. We have had an office in Amman since 2004. Focus has always been on establishing our work and making contact with as many local women's organisations and international actors as possible. In 2005 we began our first partnership.
