Women's position in the conflict-affected country has gradually deteriorated and many women today live under constant threat to their security. Women risk their lives when working for peace and human rights. They realise there are no alternatives to dialogue and cooperation if the country is to change direction from the chaos that exists today to a society in which women can feel safe and have the right to choose the life they themselves wish to lead. Women's organisations in Iraq have enormous needs and many inquire about Kvinna till Kvinna support because the situation of women is not sufficiently highlighted by the international community and international organisations.

The Kvinna till Kvinna Foundation currently supports two organisations in Iraq. To read more about them click on the link to the right.

In December 2011 a field office was opened in Erbil in the Kurdish part of northern Iraq.
