Kosovo

The Kvinna till Kvinna Foundation has supported and cooperated with women’s organisations in Kosovo since 1994. In 1998 we opened an office in the capital of Pristina.

Kvinna till Kvinna’s partner organisations in Kosovo work to increase women’s political participation, on both national and local level. The organisations also work with men’s violence against women. They support women who have been subjected to violence and work with advocacy and other long-term preventive measures.

Kosovo’s society is characterised by polarisation between different ethnic groups. However, the women’s rights movement is continuously working to increase cooperation between women from different groups and to provide meeting places for them.
