Egypt

The Kvinna till Kvinna Foundation supports regional peacebuilding in the Middle East. We have cooperated with women’s organisations in Egypt since 2008. This work is coordinated from our office in Amman, Jordan.

The Egyptian women’s movement plays an important role in terms of peace, security and stability in the Middle East, and our partner organisations are actively involved in regional discussions on peacebuilding. Other important issues for our partner organisations include combating violence against women, empowering young women and strengthening women’s rights in Egyptian legislation. In connection with the popular uprising in Egypt in 2011, we increased our support to the women’s movement to strengthen women’s participation in politics.

Kvinna till Kvinna facilitates networking and the exchange of knowledge between women’s organisations all over the region.
