DR Congo

The Kvinna till Kvinna Foundation has supported women’s organisations in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DR Congo) since 2009. Our partner organisations work with women who have suffered from the prolonged conflicts in the country in various different ways.

Kvinna till Kvinna’s field office in DR Congo is located in Bukavu, in the eastern part of the country, and our work is focused on the Kivu provinces. Women’s rights and civil society require a great deal of support. In eastern DR Congo different militia groups are still engaging in armed conflict, and rape and sexual violence are systematically used as a strategic weapon.
